Some sensitive institutions in Imo State are still apprehensive of carrying out their normal business activities in the state despite the relaxation of the weekly sit-at-home order by the pro-separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Investigation by The Nation revealed that financial institutions especially banks are still jittery of the unknown by supporters and champions of IPOB.
While a good number of the banks within Owerri municipal and its environs have since thrown their gates opened for customers, others are still shut against anxious customers wishing to transact with them.
It is the same with some transport companies who refused to take some passengers within and outside the State for fear of being attacked by hoodlums still sympathetic to agitation of IPOB or urchins who capitalise on the situation to attack motorists and commuters or rob them of their belongings.
Markets, filling stations, artisans, commercial food vendors and fast food centres operate unhindered as they carry out their daily business activities without any fear of molestation.
Security agencies, who usually station their men at strategic junctions and sensitive institutions as well as patrol the roads with their Hilux vehicles have since stopped.
