
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has heaped plaudits on Taiwo Awoniyi after the Nigerian hit target in the club’s 3-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night.
The Nigeria international rose from the bench to score the Tricky Trees third goal of the day.
Awoniyi put an end to his 324-day goal drought with the strike.
Santo showered encomium on the powerful striker for his remarkable character.
“A lot. We were delighted; especially his teammates were delighted for him – the way he celebrated and even in the dressing room,” Santo said after the game.
“We need T. He is taking a while, but we are very happy for him. He deserves everything. He is such a nice guy.”
The 27-year-old will he hoping to start Forest’s FA Cup third round clash with Luton Town at the City Ground on Saturday.
