This may sound ridiculous because rather than putting heads together to find solutions to Nigeria’s economic, political and security crises, governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under the aegis of Progressives Governors Forum turned to self-assessment and self-accountability, bestowing award to President Muhammadu Buhari for outstanding leadership when the northern Nigeria is engulfed in protracted civil war declared in the regions by various brands of merchants of violence.

Chairman Progressives Governors Forum, Governor Rocahs Okorocha of Imo State, at the award presentation, had extolled the leadership qualities of President Muhammadu Buhari, commending the
doggedness of the progressives’ governors who stood by the APC during and after the merger.

National Daily learned that President Muhammadu Buhari assured that his administration remains committed to improving the welfare of Nigerians notwithstanding the currentchallenges confronting the nation.

The president at the Progressives Governors Forum Honors Award at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, challenged APC members to work towards building a socially cohesive society in which the resources of the country work for all.

Sources at the event disclosed that the Award Ceremony was organized to appreciate the President and the long serving founding members of the All Progressives Congress.

National Daily further learned that eight Pioneer Progressives Governors: Kasshim Shettima of Borno State, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Umaru Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State and Abdulaziz Yari Abubakara of Zamfara State also received Long Serving Founding Members Awards from 2013- 2019

The President receiving the Award, urged APC members to build bridges across the different divides and instill faith in the unity and indivisibility of one Nigeria.

The governors assured that as they vacate office, they are willing to move Nigeria’s democracy to the next Level.
