Singer/songwriter, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy has stated that if Labour Party Presidential caandidate, Peter Obi did not join the race, Nigerians would have been left with nothing.

Oputa nicknamed the Area Fada stated this in a tweet he made on Friday through his verified Twitter Handle.

He thanked God for providing an alternative to people he described as poisonous.

Oputa writing in pidgin English said: “Thank God ooo, so if Peter Obi no comot come join this race, we would have been left with sniper and otapiapia. Tufiakwa. Hmmm! A miracle working God.”

post

There are insinuations that Charly Boy was referring to the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Sniper is a poisonous chemical brew, used to kill insects and pests, while otapiapia is the local name for mosquito killer. Both substances are known to be dangerous to health.

Oputa has never hidden his support for Mr Peter Obi in the presidential aspiration and has consistently stated that Obi’s aspiration is a youth movement.
