It’s no secret that Mr Eazi does his best work when he collaborates — a strength he recognised and implemented on his last project, Life Is Eazi Vol 2. So, it’s no surprise that his latest song, “Blow My Mind“, created alongside Swedish singer, Sabina Ddumba, is so great.
Co-written by Grammy-nominated pop star, Uzo Emenike (aka MNEK), “Blow My Mind” is a hypnotic track with a distinctly pop/electronic production. While it starts off a bit slow, it builds up to a big dance-able finish, making it the perfect party-starter.
On the track, Sabina sings sweet lyrics about her lover, saying that everything he does blows her mind. Mr Eazi then joins her for a fantastic verse, where he also declares his feelings for his partner, adding a fun and playful feel to an already solid pop song
Speaking about how the collaboration came about, Sabina said:
“When [MNEK and I] were close to finishing the song, I was really feeling it and I asked TMS, the producers, to modify the bassline just to bring in some of that Ugandan vibe.
And Mr. Eazi is the right artist for this. Even though he’s not from Uganda, I can hear that we have the same musical influences and talk the same musical language.”
For the colourful music video, Sabina draws major inspiration from ’90s MTV. ” It was all old-school r&b and hip-hop, just all the things that I loved”, she told Billboard, explaining how the music videos of that era always blew her away.
