A few years ago, Melvitto complained about his sound being ignored by Nigerian artists for not being “African enough”. Well, now that we’ve had a renaissance in the industry, with different sounds being embraced, the gifted producer finally has a chance to shine.
For his latest shot at becoming a household name, he’s teamed up with afropop royalty, Wande Coal, for a catchy new song, “Gentility“.
It’s a well-known fact that Wande Coal was Mo’ Hits’ MVP for the label’s six-year reign. Since then, he has managed to stay relevant, dropping bangers and making every song he appears on better. It’s that same inimitable energy that he brings to Melvitto’s “Gentility”.
Against a fantastic beat, produced by Melvitto, Wande Coal sings wise words, reminding listeners that gentility doesn’t equate to stupidity. He warns people against taking his kindness for granted, because he’s watching everyone’s moves and the repercussions will be dire.
