The official presidential announcement of Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has elicited a variety of views.
The vice president has previously addressed Nigerians about his decision to run for President in 2023, according to Naija News.

Osinbajo indicated in a tweet on Monday that his choice to run for president was motivated by a desire to give his fair share to the country’s progress.

Following the news, some Nigerians praised the vice president for entering the presidential contest, while others derided him for being a stooge of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Take a look at some of the responses below:

@unclemidetush wrote: “Congratulations on making a good choice to run, Prof. We can now function properly with our respective lives because we’ve been patiently waiting for you to declare. But by God’s unfailing grace, you will NOT win.”

@UmehWrites wrote: “Looks like the Redeemed church already have plans to vote him in mass, plus he’s clinching to loyalty to Buhari to proceed. My major issue is how people have suffered yet you call him a man of integrity. Make your declaration without lying. Smh”

@BhadmusAkeem wrote: “We shall wait for your party to carry out the primaries and field the best man to contest against the other parties. Good luck sir.

@AmechiAninye wrote: “He is surely the best qualified. He surely has my vote.

“The thing is, politics is a game of money, lots of money🤔 Osinbajo/El Rufai will be explosive!!!”

@GhesheS wrote: “Nigeria unifier has spoken! We thank GOD for the progress made thus far. Let this continue in 2023, as Nigeria marches on to assume the nation of our dream with our Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, as the President, by GOD’s grace.”

@falomojoy wrote: “Nobody can deny the fact that you are the most loved personality in every part of the country. You are so connected to the masses and that is the type of leader Nigeria needs. We are with you on these sir.”

@Sandra_LOAT wrote: “As the Vice President, you didn’t do anything. People died, a whole lot happened and you didn’t say anything Endsars. Please rest sir, God bless you.
