Last year, DMW rapper, Dremo dropped his first-ever body of work, Codename Vol 1 – a star-studded, 9-track EP. Following that, he released videos for some of the project’s standout tracks, and he has now done the same for its very best song: the Mayorkun-assisted “Dapada”.
As one of the strongest rappers in the game, there are a lot of eyes on Dremo, and he didn’t disappoint with his EP. Regardless, he needed a few radio-friendly bops to give the project legs, and with “Dapada”, he managed to score a rather impressive one.
The song arrests you within seconds, as Mayorkun starts off by sampling D’Prince’s “Banana”, before launching into the ridiculously catchy hook. Dremo delivers great, well-written verses, which contain cheeky and highly quotable lyrics.
For the accompanying video, which was directed by Qudus Badmus, Mayorkun and Dremo mostly perform the song while doing some of the latest trendy dance moves. The clip allows both stars to show off their synergy, which is quite apparent on the track.
