Kim Kardashian West has announced that she and her attorney helped secure the release of a convicted man, Jeffrey Stringer, who spent more than two decades behind bars.
Jeffrey Stringer was convicted for drug possession when he was 25 but was given a life sentence because he had two prior drug charges.
His attorney, Brittany K. Barnett — who Kim Kardashian credited for securing Jeffrey’s release – told TMZ that they went to court and she successfully argued for Stringer’s release under the First Step Act, which President Donald Trump signed into law earlier this year.
Following his release, Kim took to her Twitter page to celebrate the success of securing the release of another convict.
We did it again! Had the best call w/this lovely family & my attorney @msbkb who just won release for their loved one Jeffrey in Miami – he served 22 years of life sentence for low level drug case. He served too much time but it gives me so much joy to fund this life saving work. pic.twitter.com/pbYicKmFpJ

Kim Kardashian, who is currently studying hard to become a lawyer, had previously persuaded US President Donald Trump to commute the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a first-time non-violent drug offender who was similarly handed a life sentence.
Her intervention helped in securing Johnson’s freedom. Despite the detractions, Kim seems to be taking her criminal justice reform focus quite seriously.
