At this point, it’s no secret that Runtown has that X factor when it comes to creating music. Since his breakout, he’s given us at least one hit (with massive staying power) a year, and it looks like he’s not stopping any time soon.

Recently, in an interview with Okay Africa, the afropop star teased an upcoming EP, titled Afrobeats & Stadiums, and we’re excited.

Last year, even though he was amidst a messy public battle with his former record label and launching his own entertainment company, he still managed to shine as a performer, dropping the Fekky-assisted “Unleash” and elevating Odunsi The Engine’s “star signs”.

Speaking to Okay Africa about his aspirations for the upcoming project, Runtown said:

“We are trying to take afrobeats to the real arenas of the world. You see how artists like The Weeknd are doing it in big arenas? afrobeats deserve that kind of energy.

So I am recording this project which will contain music for the world, but also music for my people. We have found that balance in the music and we’re about to drop the project on that wave.”

Well, given his track record and the number of eyes focusing on the Nigerian music industry at the moment, we have complete faith in what Runtown is about to give us. Until then, we’ll just be bopping to his old bangers.
