Mr Eazi has been fairly active since he dropped his latest mixtape, Life Is Eazi Vol 2. From releasing documentaries about the process of making that project, to dropping videos for some of the standout tracks, he hasn’t left us any room to forget about him.

Now, he’s teamed up with DJ Kaywise and renowned South African beatsmith, DJ Maphoriosa for a catchy new single, “Alert”.

Pan-African collaborations are becoming more commonplace these days, and DJ Maphoriosa has been quite visible in this regard. On “Alert”, they manage to bring together facets of Nigerian pop culture and South African house music, making it a true melding of both worlds.

Handling the catchy hook and two verses, Mr Eazi talks about how hard he works to ensure that his alerts keep coming in, while also boasting about how all the girls who used to reject him now want him due to his present status.

For the accompanying video, the artists mostly perform the song against a colourful, eye-catching background, surrounded by talented dancers. The video is just as engaging as the track itself, and we’re fully expecting it to catch on.
