Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has come under series of social media attacks over her comments she made on the Lekki tollgate shooting.
On October 20, 2020, where several lives were lost as a result of the police and army shooting unarmed citizens during the EndSARS protest.
As a result of this incidents, several people called for justice to be served for the lost lives, Omotola on her part took to her Twitter page to question the claims that people actually died during the protest.
“If people died during the Lekki Toll Assault, let their people speak out please, and if there were no death, then enough with the sensationalisation because it does not remove from the crime that happened. Peaceful protesters were, why? by who?”, Omotola tweeted.
Her tweet stirred a controversy as many slammed her for her insensitivity to the plights of the victims.
On Monday, November 15, 2021, the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up to investigate the Lekki shooting presented their report to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The report indicted both the Nigerian army and the police and described the incident as a massacre.
Following the report, many have taken to social media to call out the actress for her tweets.
