KIDNAPPERS have killed the chairman of Lere Local Government branch of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kaduna State, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Dambardi.
The state chairman of the association, Alhaji Haruna Usman Tugga, said in a statement that Dambardi’s abductors killed him in the early hours of Friday in his hometown, Lere.
Tugga said the kidnappers killed Dambardi for offering them paltry N250,000 out of the N20 million they had demanded for his release.
“They took him on the Saminaka-Mari-Zango Highway and killed him there,” he said.
He appealed to state government and security agencies to investigate the matter and fish out the culprits. Tugga described the deceased as an ambassador of peace in the council area and beyond.
“We have really lost a leader of high esteem who has been assisting the association in promoting harmony and coexistence among members.
“The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nigeria Kaduna State condoles with the family and friends of the late Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Dambardi and prays Allah to grant him paradise and the family the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement added.
