PDP’s chairman has insisted APC chieftain and Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi is returning to the PDP when he is done sight-seeing.

The chairman of the Rivers chapter Desmon Akawor stated this at an event in the Ikwerre Local Government Area while receiving defectors from other political parties to the PDP.

According to him, all the PDP members who earlier defected went out to see, and they saw nothing.

“One day, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, your son, will come back to his family, which is PDP. He has to come back because he was a speaker. Where he went, he went for a reason,” Akawor said.

“He went to remove President Jonathan. Jonathan has gone, so he should come back to his party. I have said it. They say I should not repeat that.

“Right in Ikwerre Local Government, I am saying it again. My brother, my friend, the bosom friend of our Governor, Nyesom Wike, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, come back home.”

Amaechi parted way with the PDP that got in office as governor of Rivers for eight years.

His role in the nPDP that allied with the APC then endeared him to President Muhammadu Buhari whom he has been serving since 2015.
