On Saturday, some youths in Plateau State’s Jos North Local Government Area battled with Fulanis near Rukuba Road.
Several persons are said to have died as a result of the clash.
DAILYPOST gathered that some buses were carrying Fulani heading towards Rukuba Road while Irigwe people and other sympathisers were waiting for the corpses of six of their people who were recently killed by suspected herdsmen in an attack for funeral before the fight broke out.
“Yes, there was unrest near Rukuba Road in Jos North LGA,” Plateau State Police Command spokesman ASP Gabriel Ogaba stated.
“Security personnel have been deployed to the area and have taken charge.
“At the moment the area is calm and residents are going about their lawful businesses.
“Details about what happened will be communicated shortly.”
As at the time of filing this report, there was no actual casualty figure, as the dead and injured have been taken away by security operatives.
