The baby of a Zamfara for councilor and his wife have been released by kidnappers after spending 48 hours with the bandits in forests.
Babangida Haruna home was invaded Wednesday night and his wife and son were kidnapped by the gunmen who shot their way into the building.
Haruna sustained gunshot injuries in the attack.
According to sources close to the family, the kidnapped victims were released on Friday evening after spending more than 48 hours in captivity.
“Alhamdulillah, Glory be to Allah, my wife and my baby regained freedom,” Haruna posted on his Facebook page.
He didn’t state whether a ransom was paid.
