Wizkid and Drake have had a solid rapport for a while now, collaborating on multiple bangers. While the pair haven’t given us another bop in about two years, they recently reunited at the O2 Arena for the London leg of the Grammy-winning rapper’s ongoing tour.
A few days ago, Wizkid announced, during a press tour in Toronto, that he’s been working on new music with Drake, and that got us very excited. So, it feels very appropriate that both stars took to the stage to remind us of their potent chemistry, performing “Come Closer” and “One Dance”.
We know that Drake has been seen with other Nigerian artists, such as Burna Boy and Tekno, so our guess is that he might be working on a body of work with these artists. Considering his love letter to the UK, 2017’s More Life, an afropop-influenced project doesn’t seem far fetched at all.
