The Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday resumed collation of results of the Rivers State governorship election.

This was after the court threw out a suit challenging the process instituted by the African Action Congress.

National Commissioner supervising Bayelsa, Edo and Rivers States, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, while declaring the resumption of the governorship results collation, assured party agents and other stakeholders of a fair, credible and peaceful collation process.

She said, “In view of that incident on the March 10 collation, the commission set up a five-man fact-finding committee to verify the nature and obstructive activities that generally attended the election at the collation centre.

“I wish to assure you of our commitment to free and credible process in completing this collation.”

Results released so far include:

Port Harcourt LGA:

AAC 11,886

PDP 40,197

Ikwerre LGA:

AAC 5,660

PDP 14,138
