The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 49 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 165,901.
The NCDC made this known on Thursday night via its official Twitter handle where it disclosed that the new cases were recorded in 7 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“On the 20th of May 2021, 49 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria,” the NCDC said.
“The 43 new cases are reported from 7 states- Lagos (21), Rivers (16), FCT (5), Kano (3), Akwa Ibom (2), Ebonyi (1), and Ekiti (1).
“Till date, 165901 cases have been confirmed, 156459 cases have been discharged and 2067 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
