This year, Reekado Banks’ voice has been pretty inescapable, as he’s not only dropped a solo banger, “Yawa”, but he’s also racked up collaborations with a plethora of gifted artists. Clearly not interested in giving fans a break, he’s now come through with another solid track, “Maria”.

Reekado Banks primarily maintains an affectionate personality through most of his songs, and “Maria” is no different. Singing to the eponymous lover, Reekado describes his defenselessness when it comes to Maria’s whiles.

Solidly produced by Young Jonn, the beat for “Maria” is fast-paced, however, its darker keys reflect the sensitive mood of Reekado Banks’ vulnerability on the track. “Maria” is certainly another infectious hit from one of the best afropop stars in the game.
