Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala is thrilled to have grabbed a brace for Barcelona Ladies in their Liga Iberdrola 3-2 defeat to Recreativo Huelva at the Miniestadi on Wednesday, reports Completesports.com.
Oshoala opened scoring for Barcelona Ladies early on but were pegged back by three goals in nine minutes from the visitors.
Luis Cortés’ side took control of the game in the early stages, and it was no surprise when Oshoala opened the scoring on 16 minutes.
Martens and Hamraoui came close as the hosts dominated, with Vicky Losada having a shot saved by goalkeeper Sara Serrat, and Andonova hitting the post direct from a corner.
It was an entirely different story after the break, Huelva scoring three goals in just nine minutes through Raquel, after an error, Anita with a header, and Flor after a good counter attack.
Oshoala reduced the deficit six minutes from time but her side could not find the equaliser as they suffered their first defeat of the campaign.
The former Rivers Angels star took to the social media to celebrate her goals and also backed the team to bounce back from the setback.
“Lost but glad to score 2 goals today. We keep fighting ???? @FCBfemeni #AlhamdulilahAlways⚽️⚽️,”she tweeted.
Oshoala who is on loan at the club from Chinese Women League outfit, Dalian Quanjian has now scored three goals in two outings for the Barcelona Ladies.
