Following the critical and commercial success of her eponymous debut album, Simisola, expectations are rather high for Simi‘s next body of work. Now, the talented singer-songwriter has finally announced the title and release date of the project, Omo Charlie Champagne.
Since the release of Simisola, which went on to win ‘Album of the Year’ at the Headies, Simi has dropped a few fantastic singles, including “Lovin”, “I Dun Care” and “Ayo”, all of which have us particularly excited for whatever this new project brings.
Announcing the release date on Instagram, Simi said:
“On the day that I was born, my next album will be born.”
Well, if you’ve been paying any attention, you’ll know that we’re big Simi fans over here, and we’re seriously hoping that she doesn’t fall victim to the dreaded sophomore slump. Omo Charlie Champagne will be available on April 19, and we’ll be counting down the days.
