About nine months ago, Nasty C dropped his jaw-dropping sophomore album, Strings And Bling. After what’s felt like forever, the South African rapper has finally dropped not one, but two videos for the project’s strongest track, the Rowlene-assisted “SMA”, and a third is on its way.
Stunningly produced by Nani Chehore & ZinoD, “SMA” is a deeply emotional track about a toxic relationship. Written like a conversation between two lovers, Nasty C and Rowlene sing about not being strong enough to leave a partner who consistently hurts them.
For the first music video, dubbed “SMA (Vol.1)”, we follow an older couple who oscillate between being happy and fighting about perceived unfaithfulness; while the second music video, dubbed “SMA (Vol. 2)”, follows a younger couple struggling to be on the same page emotionally.
