Arthur Eze Offers To Lead Anambra Monarchs To Buhari Over 2nd Niger Bridge, Onitsha River Ports Dredging

Anambra born billionaire Oil magnet, Prince Arthur Eze yesterday joined a league of traditional promises on President Mohammadu Buhari for his giant strides towards the growth and development of the South East region.

Specifically, Eze offered to lead a delegation of the traditional rulers in the state to Buhari to commend him for the on-going second Niger bridge, Enugu Airport, Enugu/Onitsha expressway Enugu/Umuahia expressway and other on-going projects in the South East zone.

Eze who disclosed this during a meeting with the monarchs at the palace of the traditional ruler of Ukwulu community in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government, Igwe Peter Uyanwa, said while commending Buhari for his kindness for Ndigbo so far, they would also beg him to dredge the Rier Niger and make it navigable to enable Igbo traders collect their consignments from Onitsha sea port.

He therefore asked the traditional rulers to appoint delegation of about 10 or more traditional rulers from the state to represent them and follow him to Aso Rock to meet face to face with Buhari,

He regretted that in Anambra state, the traditional rulers are denied their five percent local government allocation, as well mas non conduct of local government election in the statee, since Governor Obiano’s tenure and assured thaem that the anomalies would soon be corrected.

He said, “I’ll lead you to Buhari. But you need to appoint 10 delegates to make your case. The North likes us much. I have no problem with them. We must befriend and reconcile with them to get our allocation.”

Earlier, the traditional rulers in the state had extolled President Buhari for his efforts in building infrastructures in the region, including the ongoing construction of the second Niger bridge, the Onitsha-Enugu-PH road and the Enugu international airport.

Speaking on behalf of the monarchs, the traditional ruler, Ukwulu, Peter Uyanwa, called for the dredging of the River Niger to facilitate transportation and boast commercial activities in the area.

He commended the philanthropic disposition of the oil mogul to them, pledging to reward him soon.

“We’ll give you an award to prove to you that we are happy with what you’re doing. You’re love for traditional rulers is unparalleled,” he added.

On his part, the South East Zonal chairman, Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Gidado Siddiki assured the cooperation of the Hausa Fulani community to their host.

He frowned at the labeling of his members as rapists, absolving them from such vices.

He appealed to the people of the area not to take laws into their hands in the events of crises, but to report such to the relevant authorities.
