Former lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye, has reacted to the rape and murder of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.
Dino in his reaction called on the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and the Director-General of the Department of States Services, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, to apprehend the perpetrators of the rape and murder of the 100-level Microbiology student of the University of Benin, UNIBEN.
Recall that the deceased was raped in the premises of a Redeemed Christian Church Of God while reading in the church which located in Benin City.
The former lawmaker who took to his Twitter account on Monday further stated that he would protest if the perpetrators of the crime are not arrested.
Dino tweeted: “Law Enforcement Agencies must find perpetrators of Rape and Murder of 22-Year-old Uwa Omozuwa that happened in a Church in Benin city.”
“The Attorney General of the Federation, IGP and DG DSS must unravel the demons responsible, or we take to the street. Enough is Enough.”
Meanwhile, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in a post on his Instagram account condemned the terrible incident.
Adeboye commiserated with the family of the deceased and promised that the church is ready to work with the authorities to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.
