Lobi Stars face a daunting task in their bid to make it to the quarter-final stage of the CAF Champions League when they face South African side Mamelodi Sundowns in their matchday-five encounter today (Saturday) at the Lucas Moripe Stadium Pretoria, reports Completesports.com.

The Makurdi club are without a win in their last three games in the competition and must beat ‘The Brazilians’ to keep alive their hopes of progressing further in the competition.

Solomon Ogbeide’s charges occupy last opposition in Group B with four points from four games.

The Nigerian champions won the reverse fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu 2-1 and will look to reproduce the feat this time around.

Lobi Stars have not won any of their games away from home, losing four and drawing one which includes their games in the preliminary round.

They can however take inspiration from the 0-0 draw against Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in their last game in the competition.

Dependable midfielder Dare Ojo insists they can turn things around against the Masandawana who will be banking on the support of their fans in the game.

“The draw against Wydad Casablanca in the last game has been a big morale booster for us and we are more than determined to secure maximum points in tnis game.

“It is going to be tough out there but we are fully ready for the task, hopefully we will come out victorious at the end of the day.”
