Tyson Fury’s trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder could be rescheduled for October 3.
Fury and Wilder’s camps are working on a new date because they know the coronavirus pandemic is likely to Knockout the original July 18 slot.
The delay to the clash in Las Vegas means any showdown between Fury and Anthony Joshua may not happen until February 2021.
Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren claims they can do nothing until the Nevada State Athletic Commission allow boxing to resume in Vegas.
“It’s going to have to be put back, there’s no doubt about it,” he said.
It’s got to take place, the problem is when.
“It’s probably got to take place in Vegas when the Nevada State Athletic Commission sanction fights to take place again.
“At the moment, they’re saying no so it’s up in the air, which is a pain.
“It’s a blow as we would have liked to have got it done in the summer, but it is what it is. The whole country is in the same boat, everything has gone on hold.
“We need the time to do the fight justice in terms of promotion, it won’t go on till the autumn.”
British fight fans are desperate to see Fury and Joshua clash for the undisputed world heavyweight title if both men come through their next fights and Warren says they will have to wait.
“The delay will push that back to some time in February,” he said.
“The problem we’ve got is we are contractually obliged to have the third fight. Wilder invoked that clause, so whatever way you want to look at it, that’s where we are stuck.”

Warren claims there are also doubts over Daniel Dubois-Joe Joyce at The O2 on July 11 and Carl Frampton’s June 13 clash with WBO super-featherweight champ Jamel Herring in Belfast.
“We’re just waiting to see,” he said. “We were looking to do a show in Ireland with Carl Frampton challenging for his third world title against Herring.
“We’re still waiting to see what we can do with that. We’re all up in the air at the minute with it.
“It’s historical for Carl and he could be the first Irishman to win world titles at three different weights, but history is on hold.”
