Kidnappers Abduct Samuel Kalu’s Mother, Demand N50m Ransom

Suspected kidnappers have abducted the mother of Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu, reports Completesports.com.

Completesports.com scooped that Mrs Ozuruonye Juliet Kalu was driving with some of her children along the Okpulu Umuobo area of Aba, Abia State, last Wednesday when the unidentified gunmen blocked her vehicle, ordered the children out of the car and took her away.

The kidnappers initially demanded for a ransom of N3m but declined to release Mrs Kalu after the money was released to them.

Completesports.com also gathered that the kidnappers are now demanding a ransom of N50m ($140, 000) before they release Kalu ‘ s mother.

The Abia State Police Command Completesports.com further gathered are working with the family to secure Juliet Kalu ‘ s release.

It remain to be seen if Kalu ‘ s mother will be released before his French club Girondins Bordeaux Ligue 1 clash against Montpellier on Tuesday.

Kalu is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Seychelles and the friendly clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt later this month.
