Aina Doubtful For Super Eagles, Seychelles Clash Due To Injury

Torino defender Ola Aina is now doubtful for Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Seychelles later this month due to injury, reports Completesports.com.

Aina, who was initially named in Torino ‘ s starting line-up for Sunday’s win against Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico was replaced by Cristain Ansaldi after picking up the injury during the pre-match warm up exercise.

Torino are yet to make a statement concerning his fitness level and the defender may have to undergo a scan on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

Walter Mazzarri ‘s men won the game 3-0 courtesy of goals from Andrea Belotti, Tomas Rincon and Simone Zaza.

Aina who is loan at Torino from Chelsea has made 22 appearances for the club the season with a goal to his name.

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is expected to name his squad for the dead rubber clash against Seychelles this week.

The three-time African champions have already qualified for the 2019 AFCON finals that will be staged in Egypt.

Aina who has featured twice in the qualifiers will also miss the international friendly encounter against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
