Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target but had to go off injured, as Lille thrashed AS Monaco 3-0 away in the round of 16 of the French League Cup on Tuesday night, Completesports.com reports.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 19th minute but was replaced by Loic Remy on 23 minutes after sustaining the injury.
Remy went on to score two goals to send Lille into the quarter-final.

The former Chelsea forward made it 2-0 for Lille in the second minute of first half added time.
Then with four minutes remaining, he added the third goal to guarantee Lille the win.
Tuesday’s goal was Osimhen’s 12th in 23 appearances in all competition for Lille this season.
Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru was not included in Monaco’s squad for the game against Lille.
