Udinese Technical Director Pierpaolo Marino is delighted to see Nigeria defender William Troost-Ekong extend his contract at the club, reports Completesports.com.
Troost-Ekong extended his contract until 2023 with the Black and White on Wednesday.
“William renewing his contract is important for us because he is a player of great value and a leader in the dressing room. It is an important message that shows how the players are doing well here in Udine,” Marino told the club’s official website.
“It is important to have a similar relationship with players who feel that they are connected to the cause. Thanks to the Pozzo family, which allows us to carry on great relationship with our players in everyday life.
The 26-year-old joined Udinese in August 2018 from Turkish outfit, Bursaspor and made 45 appearances in all competitions last season.
He was part of the Super Eagles side that finished third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt last summer.
