Alex Iwobi will be hoping to carry on his good run of form when Arsenal face bitter rivals, Tottenham Hotspur in today’s Premier League North London derby early kick-off game at Wembley Stadium, Completesports.com reports.
The Nigerian played for just 33 minutes and made yet another impression as Arsenal blew Bournemouth away in a 5-1 hiding at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
Iwobi came on for left full-back, Sead Kolasinac in the 57th minute of the game to a loud applause from the Gunners’ faithful.
The forward, however, has a rather unimpressive record against Tottenham whom he is yet to score or provide an assist against in five matches since making his derby debut in November, 2016 which ended 1-1 at the Emirates.
He has made starts in three of those five outings against the Lilywhites in all competitions with two coming in the Premier League, winning twice and also suffering two defeats.
Iwobi has netted three goals and provided four assists in 25 Premier League outings from which he has made 16 starts this season.
Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League table going into this North London derby on 56 points.
They visit Wembley one point clear of fifth-placed Manchester United and will be looking to at least maintain that advantage, but they can also close the gap on Spurs to a single point with victory.
