Enugu Rangers’ Ghanaian goalkeeper Nana Bonsu hopes his impressive showing for the club will help him get recognition at the international level, reports Completesports.com.
Bonsu, 30, linked up with the Flying Antelopes on a free transfer in January 2016 after severing ties with Ghana Premier League outfit Ashanti Gold.
The former Heart of Lions shot-stopper won the league title in his first season with the Flying Antelopes, displacing the duo of Emmanuel Daniel and Itodo Akor to emerge the club’s first choice goalkeeper.
Injury hampered his appearance for the club last season and he fell behind Femi Thomas and fellow Ghanaian, Seidu Mutawakilu in the pecking order.
A good performance in the Nigeria Federation Cup final last in 2018 against Kano Pillars where he came in as a substitute and emerge the hero in the penalty shoot-out however put Bonsu back into reckoning.
This season he has churned out a number of impressive performances for Rangers in the Nigeria Professional Football League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
His magnificent display has been applauded by many with the players himself insisting he is ready for Ghana’s senior national team.
“I’m ever ready to be called into the Black Stars because my performance is better. I’m in good shape now,” Bonsu told Ghana local radio station, Space FM.
