Kobbie Mainoo equaled Wayne Rooney’s Manchester United European feat after scoring and also bagging and assist in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win at FCSB in the Europa League on Thursday.
Mainoo provided the assist for Diogo Dalot to put United 1-0 up on the hour mark.
Eight minutes after United’s opener, Mainoo then added the second goal.
According to OptaJoe, Mainoo is the first United player to score and assist a goal on his first major European start since Rooney in September 2004 against Fenerbahçe.
Meanwhile, United finished the Europa League group stage in third place on 18 points.
This means they qualify automatically into the round of 16 place in the 36-team table.
