Europa League: Orban Benched As Lyon Secure 2-0 Home Win Against Olympiacos

Gift Orban did not feature for Lyon who beat Olympiacos 2-0 to get their Europa League campaign off to a perfect start.

Orban was an unused substitute as Rayan Cherki and Said Benrahma scored for Lyon.

While Cherki opened the scoring in the 65th minute, Benrahma made it 2-0 on 71 minutes.

Lyon are in eight place in the league table thanks to the win against Olympiacos.

In Holland Ajax thrashed Besiktas 4-0 with Chuba Akpom featuring for the Dutch giants.

Akpom was introduced in the 81st minute but could not get on the score sheet.

Other results saw Roma and Athletic Bilbao play 1-1, Sporting Braga edged Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-1, Frankfurt and Viktoria Plzen settled for a 3-3 draw and Tottenham Hotspur overcame Qarabag 3-0.
