Nigeria’s para-athletes’ couple, Alabi Samuel and his wife, Christiana, have set their sights on winning the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 8.
In an interview with Completesports.com, Samuel, who is currently on a training tour in Germany, expressed optimism about their chances of raising the country’s flag high at the international multi-sports event.

“Gold is my target, and I believe in God and in myself,” Samuel told Completesports.com during an exclusive interview.
“This opportunity came for me and my lovely wife, and we are the only couple in the world that has qualified for the Paralympic Games,” he added.
Samuel, the highest-ranked para-athlete tennis player, noted that he plans to use the tournament as an opportunity to become the world number one.
“For God to make me Nigerian and African number one, He is still there for me to make me number one in the world,” he said.
Samuel, who will compete in class 6, boasts multiple medals, both local and international, including winning the African Championship qualifying tournament for the Paralympic Games in Egypt.
His wife, Christiana, won a silver medal in the para table tennis class 5 category at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
