Paris 2024: LeBron James Keen To Inspire Young Basketball Players At Olympics

US professional basketball player LeBron James says he would inspire more young basketball players at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

James expressed eagerness ahead of the first Team USA game against Nikola Jokic’s Serbian team on Sunday morning, hoping for a new experience at the Olympics.

“I think what’s different is always a new experience,” James said.

“Some guys have never been Olympians, so you want them to see the whole moment…It’s a great opportunity for myself to continue to inspire the next generation.

James made his debut for the United States national team at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece at age 19 as a rookie. During the tournament, he warmed the bench, however recorded an average 14.6 minutes per game with 5.8 points, and 2.6 rebounds per game in eight games.

Team USA finished the competition with a bronze medal, becoming the first U.S. basketball team to return home without a gold medal since adding active NBA players to their lineup.

Also in the 2008 Olympic where Team USA went unbeaten, winning their first gold medal since. In the final game, James’ statistics were 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists against Spain.

James contributed 19 points in the victory, becoming the all-time leading scorer in U.S. men’s basketball history.

After a 12-year gap, James rejoined the national team for the 2024 Paris Olympics as a 39-year-old.
