Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has been voted Bundesliga Rookie of the Season.

The Nigeria international beat Xavi Simons, Ian Maatsen, and Maximilian Beier to the individual accolade.

The 23-year-old won the monthly award a record four times in a row – from August to December 2023.

Boniface linked up with Leverkusen from Belgian Pro League outfit Union St Gilloise last summer.

The former Bodo & Glint star was sidelined for three months after sustaining an adductor injury in January.

He also missed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as a result of the setback.

Boniface has so far registered 13 goals and three assists in the Bundesliga this season.

Bayer Leverkusen won their first-ever Bundesliga title this season dethroning 10-time consecutive champions Bayern Munich.

Die Werkself are also in the final of the DFB Pokal and UEFA Europa League.
