Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has said that Victor Boniface will be ease back to action gradually.
Boniface featured in Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal victory against Fortuna Dusseldorf on Wednesday.
It was the Nigeria international ‘s first appearance for Die Werkself in 2023.

Alonso said it is important for him to manage the forward’s fitness.
“His (Boniface) outing against Düsseldorf was good for him, but he won’t be able to start yet. We want to help him bit by bit to get that good feeling on the pitch again,” Alonso said as per GFNB.
The 23-year-old underwent surgery for an adductor injury in January.
The forward is expected to be in action when Bayer Leverkusen take on Union Berlin in a Bundesliga game on Saturday (today).
