Paris Saint-Germain’s dreams of lifting the prestigious UEFA Champions League once again ended in defeat after the Ligue 1 giants were ousted by Bayern Munich in the round of 16.
In the second-leg played at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, Bayern triumphed 2-0 to go through 3-0 on aggregate.
PSG also crashed out in the round of 16 last season after losing out to current holders Real Madrid.
Second half strikes from Eric Choupo-Moting and Serge Gnabry secured Bayern’s qualification into the quarter-finals.
Choupo-Moting broke the deadlock in the 61st minute before Gnabry doubled the lead in the 89th minute.
And in the other round of 16 second-leg fixture, AC Milan held Tottenham Hotspur to a goalless draw in London.
The result means Milan progressed into the last eight 1-0 on aggregate.
Things went from bad to worse for Spurs after Cristian Romero was sent off in the 77th minute after receiving his second booking.
