Joe Aribo says practice makes perfect after admitting his wonder touch against St Johnstone came straight off the training ground.
The midfielder has become a viral sensation after pulling a high ball out of the sky and killing it stone dead with one flick of his boot against St Johnstone on Wednesday.
The outrageous piece of skill come just days after he’d pulled off a similar technique to control a 50-yard Connor Goldson pass on his way to scoring the clincher in Sunday’s win at Hearts.
But Aribo brushed off the fuss as he admitted he had fortune on his side.
The player-of-the-year contender said: “It is funny because in training I just kick balls in the air. A lot of boys do. I was lucky to control it, bring it down and I slipped in Fashion Sakala after that. I was happy to be able to do that.
“I am just playing freely. I don’t know [what has brought the strength out in the last few weeks] to be honest. I am just playing freely and I am thankful to God for my talents.”
