Manchester United are through to the quarter-final of the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals for a fifth successive season after they defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night reports Completesports.com.
Goals from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba in the first half secured a rather comfortable win for the Red Devils.
They will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarter-finals next month.
Despite dominating possession, Chelsea failed to seriously test United goalkeeper Sergio Romero despite having only three shots on targets during the encounter.
Herrera ghosted into the back post to nod in an inch perfect cross from Pogba in the 31st minute.
Pogba then turned from provider to goal scorer as he headed in a towering header to double the visitors’ advantage on the stroke of half time.
In the second half, there was no shots of on target for Chelsea as United saw things through in a professional manner to gain revenge for last season’s defeat at Wembley.
The Blues face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, and while it would be a bold decision for the club to sack him just days before that, it is hard to see Sarri surviving much longer as this was another grim 90 minutes.
