Lamont Marcell Jacobs of Italy won Olympic gold in the men’s 100m on Sunday, ending Usain Bolt’s 13-year reign as the world’s best sprinter.

This is due to the fact that Enoch Adegoke of Nigeria did not finish the race.

In one of the most understated big 100m races in recent decades, Jacobs, 26, set a European record of 9.80 seconds, with American Fred Kerley claiming silver in 9.84 seconds.

Andre de Grasse of Canada, a bronze medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, replicated the feat in 9.89 seconds.

Details will be provided later…
