Efe Ajagba isn’t taking a break anytime soon. After knocking out an opponent in the first round of a fight in October last year, the Nigerian boxer has now stretched his winning streak to nine fights by knocking out American boxer, Amir Mansour in the second round.
Having enjoyed a professional career spanning 15 years, you would expect 46-year-old Mansour to retire, but no. He decided to take on 24-year-old Ajagba in an undercard fight that took place in California last Saturday.
As expected, Ajagba showed the veteran why he has stayed unbeaten since he went pro in 2017. Boxing Scene reports that he dominated the fight the whole time, dishing out punches that made Mansour tumble to the ground in the first round.
As if that was not enough, he also knocked him down twice. When the pummeling continued to the end of the second round, the referee had to end the fight after taking a good look at Mansour during the rest period.
This is just another step by the Delta-born boxer in his bid to dominate the heavyweight, and he’s getting close to achieving that. In his own words:
“I want to be the best heavyweight in the world. That’s my dream. I’m going to go home and work hard and prepare for the next fight.”
