Sadio Mané may not be among the top three scorers in the Premier League this season, but he has still been rather impressive. The Sun recently crunched the numbers to determine the most clinical strikers in Europe, and Mané emerged number eight on the list, with a shot conversion rate of 22.58%.
To be specific, Mané is credited with 62 total shots, 31 of which were on target and 14 of which found the back of the net. The stats put him ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (who has a shot conversation rate of 22.54%) and Lionel Messi (with a shot conversion rate of 19.84%).
This means that Mané is the number one African footballer in Europe right now when it comes to shot conversion. No wonder he’s been nominated for Liverpool’s ‘Goal of the Month’ award, alongside the beloved Mohamed Salah.
This season alone, he has scored 14 goals in the Premier League and one in the Champions League; and you will agree that as the season progresses, he has become more and more clinical in front of goal. Take, for example, the delicious backheel goal he served against Watford in February.
