Every young adult living in Nigeria knows the struggle of clothes shopping — most people resort to importing clothes from abroad themselves, asking friends or family to bring stuff back or waiting weeks for ASOS to deliver.
But if you’re dedicated to shopping locally, apart from putting one’s faith in one’s tailor to best recreate Western styles, it’s almost impossible to get the latest trends. Well, that was until Rendoll hit the scene.
With affordable prices for young adults, Rendoll is a simple and stylish fashion brand, full of timeless pieces that also adhere to fashion trends of the moment — making shopping for clothes in Nigeria that much easier.
Speaking to Konbini about her goals for the brand, Rendoll founder, Morenikeji Abina — who also helms the one-stop wig shop, Hair By Reni — expressed her desire to make accessible and affordable clothing for her fellow Nigerian woman, saying:
“My goal was to make really pretty pieces for affordable prices. More importantly, pieces that will easily be available to all my Nigerian sisters.”
So, even if you’re on a budget, each Rendoll outfit will have you looking very chic. But, given the simplicity of each piece, there’s definitely room to wear these items more casually, or even, more flamboyantly — whatever’s your speed.
Before Rendoll, Abina also struggled to find clothes that matched her style — the few she came across were far too expensive, so she too had to rely on trips abroad or a local tailor. She tells Konbini that this is what inspired her to launch the brand:
“I figured that if I’m going through this struggle, then a lot of other people probably are as well.
So, my intention was to solve this problem for as many people as I can reach. Let’s all look good together without having to break the bank.”
Rendoll is certainly filling a crucial gap in the market, and although the clothes are made to order — taking between five and 10 working days to be delivered — garments of this calibre are definitely worth the wait.
With a carefully curated Instagram page, that is almost as alluring as the clothes themselves, Rendoll has taken us all the way through its creation process — from the mood-boarding stage to Morenikeji Abina’s sample modelling.
Thanks to Abina, showing us precisely how to slay in her pieces and leaving us dying to get our hands on some, we are understandably reeling with excitement at Rendoll’s arrival at last, and you should be too.
Check out Rendoll’s Instagram page now, and get yourselves stocked up.
