Three weeks ago, we reported that FC Barcelona legend, Carles Puyol, will be in Nigeria for the UEFA Champions League Tour. The tour, which is on at the moment, reached its peak yesterday when Puyol was joined by Nigerian football legend, Jay-Jay Okocha in an exhibition match.
Called ‘The Unmissable Match’, it took place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo with 30,000 fans in attendance. It’s every football fan’s dream to see legends of this caliber back in action, and Okocha didn’t disappoint as he showed off the skills he’s famous for.
The Spanish legend was the captain of the Chairman team, which played against the Shine Shine Bobo team, led by Okocha. Although Okocha had former players like Daniel Amokachi, Austin Eguavoen and Uche Okechukwu on his team, the one-hour match ended 5-2 in favour of Puyol’s side.
