In recent times, we’ve seen African basketballers dominate conversations in the NBA. With this development, it’s only right that their impact in the league is showcased to fans back home, and that’s why the NBA has launched its first YouTube channel dedicated to African fans.

Sports Video reports that the channel, NBA Africa, will show two live games every week for the rest of the 2018-19 season, and will also come up with programmes that celebrate the achievements of African players in the NBA.
One of the main objectives of the channel is to inspire and empower youth in the continent, and Africa-based YouTube creators will also get a chance to collaborate with the channel — create original content that will resonate with their expected audience.
Speaking about the channel, NBA vice president and managing director for Africa, Amadou Gallo Fall said:
“The NBA Africa YouTube channel is yet another important milestone for the NBA in Africa and will allow more fans to access our games, live and on demand, across the continent.
We look forward to bringing the excitement of the NBA to more fans in sub-Saharan Africa while celebrating the NBA’s rich history and bright future in Africa.”
The channel will go live on March 24 with broadcasts of Charlotte Hornets vs. Boston Celtics and L.A. Clippers vs. New York Knicks games.
