President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Professor Musa Isiyaku Ahmed as the Vice Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, Kebbi State.
The university is billed to take-off in September this year.
Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono disclosed the news in Abuja while delivering the letter of appointment to the new Vice-Chancellor.
Sabo also challenged the Vice-Chancellor to work hard and make sure the university ranks among the world’s best universities in the future.
Professor Isiyaku is a Professor in the Department of Veterinary, Parasitology and Entomology at the University of Maiduguri, Borno State. He is also a Fellow of the Nigeria College of Veterinary Surgeons; Fellow, Institute of Human and Natural Resources; Director, International Technology Centre, University of Maiduguri among others.
Yusuf Abdulazeez Bazata from Kebbi State has been appointed the registrar of the new university.
Nigeria’s federal universities of agriculture were moved from the Federal Ministry of Education to The Federal ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development under the former minister, Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has revealed how he used black seed oil, honey and other locally sourced ingredients to cure himself of coronavirus.
