Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, the director general of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, has been isolated–and will be for the next 14 days.
According to Health Minister Osagie Ehanire when he appeared before the Senate leadership. it is the normal procedure for anybody just coming from China.
Ihekweazu flew in from the Asian country where the virus broke out, infecting about 100,000 and killing over 2000.
to provide an update on the activities of his ministry to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
He said the standard practice was for anyone coming into Nigeria to be quarantined for 14 days before mingling with other members of the public.
More than a dozen people in Nigeria have been quarantined since an Italian presented symptoms of the disease last week.
Nobody has turned positive yet.
